We are also providing The Hub for The Wadebridge HOPE Initiative, where all areas of our Community are working together to support vulnerable people living in our local community. The HOPE Initiative includes county councillors, town councillors, faith groups, schools, voluntary sector and local businesses.
This is also part of a wider Cornwall initiative called Corona Cornwall (www.coronacornwall.org.uk) where you can find out more about what is happening locally in communities and how you can get involved.
We now have 60 volunteers some already working out there in the community, with others waiting to fill in where needed. This week has seen yet again an increase in demand on what we are delivering.
With the additional support provided by local businesses and two Chef’s volunteering from Paul Ainsworth’s, we have been able to provide meals for the front line services here in Wadebridge, by supporting our Dr’s Surgeries and Chemists.
Manager Andy Lyle said: “I know I keep saying this BUT you are the unsung heroes of our community, making a difference to the lives of others as they isolate within their own home and without what you are doing, they along with their families (who live away from Cornwall) would be struggling each and every day during these uncertain times.”
If you require any help please contact the centre on 01208 812392 – we are open 7 days a week. Monday to Friday from 9am – 3pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am- 1pm.
