A WADEBRIDGE Pharmacist has helped to raise £1,400 for a local community centre by completing a Three Peak Challenge in just 24 hours!
Verity Durman, Pharmacist Store Manager at Boots on The Platt, climbed Ben Navis, Scafell and Snowdon in 24 hours – within 33 minutes to spare! Verity raised £1,400 for Concern Wadebridge at The John Betjeman Centre.

Concern Wadebridge manager Emma Burt said: “We are so incredibly grateful to Verity for helping to raise so much money. The funds are being used to replace our hydro boiler and make improvements to our kitchen. We run Platform 1, a community cafe which supports all ages and provides affordable home cooked food and refreshments for the whole community including many support groups, activities and the lonely and vulnerable who come in for a chat and information. It’s really going to make a huge difference. The words ‘Thank You’ never seems enough!”
Verity added: “Thank you so much for all your support for my mountain adventure, successfully climbing the 3 peaks within 24 hours. I raised an amazing £1,400 for the Betjeman Centre.”
