Donation in memory of Wadebridge Mother

THANKS to a generous donation in memory of a local mother Concern Wadebridge has been able to purchase a multimedia screen.

The new technology will help groups and individuals that attend a variety of groups and activities at The John Betjeman Centre.

The money was raised by Dave Pearce and his sister Trudie McShane who held a prize bingo at Wadebridge Social Club in memory of their mother Hilda Pearce and raised £1130.00.

Dave said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the bingo, gave raffle prizes and helped us raise such a great amount.

We are really pleased to have been able to donate the money to cause in Wadebridge so that the money stays in the town to help local people.”

Concern Wadebridge manager Andy Lyle said: “We are really grateful to Dave and Trudie for the donation. We have had several requests for a multimedia screen in the St Enodoc room so we are delighted to be able to provide one.

It will be used for everything from watching films to going on the internet and is a great asset to the centre.”
