The John Betjeman Centre in Wadebridge was bursting with song and laughter with the return of the Goldies UK Sessions.

What a wonderful few days we’ve had celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee we sold over 40 afternoon teas and Ian’s Quiz raised nearly £110!! Thank you to everyone who supported us and dressed up for the occasion.

I am Emma Burt, best known by my maiden name, Emma Wherry, the former Cornish Guardian reporter (many years ago) and I am so pleased to announce I am back as the new manager of The John Betjeman Centre, run by local charity Concern Wadebridge. 

Tea Dance at The Betjeman Centre stepped out to support Cancer Research UK last Friday when they graced the dance floor in support of ‘Beat Brest Cancer’. Each week a group enjoy a fun filled afternoon tripping the light fantastic at the centre and felt that they would like to support Elaine Dalley a volunteer and trustee of Concern Wadebridge who has been involved in the Wadebridge ‘Beat Brest Cancer’ event for many years.

Festive cheer filled the Betjeman Centre in Wadebridge for a special Christmas meal for those who would have otherwise been on their own or unable to cook a meal.
