Access Wadebridge

Concern Wadebridge is part of the Shopmobility scheme so we are able to hire mobility scooters, wheelchairs and walking aids.

This can be for short- or long-term use. We also run a Holiday mobility project where people who are visiting the area can hire the equipment or local people can hire to take away on holidays – our scooters have been all over the world on planes and cruise ships!

We have a variety of scooters, larger ones that are suitable for going along The Camel Trail and smaller boot scooters which are better for shopping and sightseeing.

Anyone hiring a scooter will be given full training and shown how to take boot scooters apart.

Please give us at least 24 hours notice as we need to make sure the batteries are fully charged.

Charges 1st October 2025 – 31st March 2026:

There is a £6 booking fee for all hires this helps to cover admin and insurance charges.

General hire (per day):  

• Mobility scooter £15
• Bariatric wheelchair £10
• Wheelchair £6
• Walkers/rollator £6

Long term hire: 

To be negotiated due to individual circumstances

Delivery:

Delivery can be arranged with advanced notice at £25 each way (within 20-mile radius) but please be aware our drivers are volunteers are not always available. Booking is essential.

Concern Wadebridge also has a 9-seater accessible minibus

The minibus is available for hire to community groups and organisations including schools and local clubs and transporting mobility equipment.

Costs for April 2025 to March 2026:

Standard hire of the vehicles is £65 a day plus 50p per mile fuel (this can change if fuel prices rise again). Users must have an annual group membership which is £50 for 12 months.

Please include your dates and requirements. You will be sent a booking form and costs. To secure the booking the form must be completed and returned and payment in full. Payment can be made over the phone with a card or by BACS.
